2 Days to Stop SEPTA Cuts - Save SEPTA Flyering

SEPTA has shared that new state transit funding must be secured by August 14th in order to avoid a 20% service cut across the system later this month. This includes cutting 32 bus lines, shortening 16 routes, and reducing service for 63 more. SEPTA metro and regional rail line service would also become less frequent. Fares would also increase by 21.5% on September 1st.

It's not too late to prevent these cuts. Join us for an evening of action to join the fight to save SEPTA! Our office will be open to pick up flyers to post at transit stops and share with bus riders.

Why are we flyering at bus stops? Your bus stop may have a new schedule posted soon due to a lack of state funding. The new schedules will have reduced service that takes away the freedom of people in the Philly area to travel to work, school, and get around our region.
--------

From the Philadelphia Inquirer: "Crews are scheduled to start zip-tying notices to utility poles at 3,000 SEPTA bus stops on July 28.

Service cuts could start three weeks later. Some stops will be eliminated or serve a shorter route, and riders need to be warned as early as possible.

For about three months, the transit agency’s planners have been putting together two fall schedules at the same time: One is normal. The other represents a 20% cut in service that would start Aug. 24."

--------
There is still time to prevent these cuts. We will empower SEPTA riders to contact their state elected officials and demand transit funding.
