How to Audit Your Bus Stop

Philly deserves transit that is safe and accessible for everyone! 🚌♿️

Transit Forward Philadelphia has developed a Transit Accessibility and Safety form to document the conditions of transit stops across Philly. We plan to document conditions at the stops and deliver a report to decision makers to build a safer and more  equitable transit system. Get involved by joining an audit or using the resources below to plan one in your community.

How To Audit A Transit Stop

TFP plans to audit the top 100 bus stops by ridership in the city! Audits may be conducted in group settings or individually, which typically takes 5-10 minutes per station. You are welcome to join our campaign or audit the stops closest to you.

Before your Audit

  • If you are curious about what stops have already been recorded or stops that need to be recorded, take a look at our survey map.
  • Identify the stops you would like to survey, and make a plan about how you will reach each one.
  • If you are in a group, choose one person to submit the form. The rest of the group will help by navigating between bus stops and closely examining each stop.
  • ead through the audit form. It is a good idea to read through the entire form before your first audit to get a sense of what to look out for.

During your audit

  • Utilize our online form or our paper forms (bus stop form and metro stop form) to complete your audit.
  • Take your time and answer each question to the best of your abilities.

  • Review your answers and hit submit!
    • Please note that the Stop ID is located at the bottom of the sign or at the top of bus shelters
