Advocates Rally to Fund Transit in the State Budget

The PA State Budget is due today, and transit riders are taking action! 🚌

Today, transit advocates, community leaders, and elected officials gathered near Independence Mall with one message: Pennsylvania needs to fund transit in the 2026–2027 state budget!

Nearly 1 million people across the Commonwealth – in every county, in every corner of PA – rely on transit every single day. It connects people to jobs, school, healthcare, and each other.

We saw what's possible at the recently renovated 5th & Market El stop, now accessible with new elevators and ramps for riders with disabilities, strollers, market carts, and bikes. That's the kind of infrastructure investment we need at bus, train, and trolley stops across the state.

PA's budget is due Wednesday, July 1. With new state revenue available, we need dedicated, sustainable funding now!

Use your voice to:
🚌 Call your State Senator and State Representative. Tell them to pass a budget with transit funding
🚆Call Governor Shapiro at 717-787-2500 and tell him to support transit funding in this year's state budget
