Transit Forward Philadelphia is seeking a paid, ~12-week Transit Fellow to coordinate budget- and policy-related advocacy during the FY2025 budget cycles at SEPTA, City of Philadelphia, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Transit Forward Philadelphia is seeking a Transit Fellow to support the Coalition Manager with communications, scheduling, and volunteer engagement for the FY2025 budget season at the city, SEPTA, and state level. The Transit Fellow should be able to work with a diverse set of constituents as well as engage various stakeholders and transit riders, with emphasis on riders from historically underserved and disinvested parts of the city, in order to improve transit access for all Philadelphians.
The Transit Fellow will work closely with the Coalition Manager and serve as a part-time member of the Transit Forward Philadelphia team. The Fellow will support the coalition's priorities for transit operations and capital funding via city and state government, and responsible investments for the SEPTA budget. This includes assisting in recruiting, training, and coordinating coalition members and volunteers for visits to offices of elected officials; testimonies via E-mail, phone, and at public meetings; and 1-2 group trips to the state capitol.
